How will Movin’ and Groovin’ Educational Classes benefit my child?
Movin’ and Groovin’ is a developmentally age-appropriate educational program designed and taught by a New York State dual-certified teacher whom is dedicated to helping your child(ren) grow academically!
Movin’ and Groovin’ will engage your child(ren) in a variety of music, movement and hands-on activities that will foster a life-long love for learning as well as promote personal growth!
Movin’ and Groovin’ activities are in compliance with the New York State learning standards so your child(ren) will learn while having fun!
Movin’ and Groovin’ will stimulate all of your child’s Multiple Intelligences, hence, giving them a better opportunity to master the skills being taught.
Movin’ and Groovin’ will promote good health and fitness by motivating your child to get up and move!
Movin’ and Groovin’ will help increase your child’s listening and math skills, encourage cooperative behavior and teach him/her about respecting others!

NEW Sessions Starting Spring 2010!
NEW Struggling Spellers Study Solution: Is you child, GRADES 1ST through 5TH, having trouble mastering their spelling words? If so, then you both need to attend this hands-on, center-based workshop presented by Movin’ and Groovin’. During this hour and a half session parents will learn how to create a simple and effective study environment which will foster a positive attitude about learning! Say good-bye to traditional study techniques and hello to a new, exciting and engaging approach which is sure to making learning more meaningful and fun! Each child and their parent will move through five centers and have a chance to put the newly learned techniques to the test with their own spelling lists. Don’t miss this opportunity to have fun and learn creative study habits which will have your children begging for more words! Please bring a spelling list to class or a list of at least 10 words your child is having difficulty with. The $20.00 activity fee, per family, is in return for a study kit which includes all the necessary tools for your child to continue practicing their words at home!
Movin’ and Groovin’ Fitness and Fun : With childhood obesity on the rise we, as parents, need to encourage our child to GET UP AND MOVE! This program has been designed to do just that as well as helping your child(ren) develop these needed skills: fine and gross motor skills, cooperative behavior, positive interaction among peers, and good listening skills. With Movin’ and Groovin’ children between the ages of 15months and 5 years will enjoy being up on their feet for 45 minutes of FITNESS & FUN! Freeze Dance, The Gong Song and We Are The Dinosaurs are just a few of the songs that will have your child DANCING, SINGING and MOVING to a HEALTHY beat!
Inorder to keep the Reading and Math programs highly effective, class sizes are limited to 12 students.
Movin’ and Groovin’ Reading I: Baking Words, Sight Word Clap, Eat Your Words, ABC Disco and Licorice Letters are just a few activities your child will have fun participating in while increasing their knowledge of letters, letter sounds and sight words. This fun, engaging and educational program is designed for children ages 4 through 6 who are just beginning to read, the struggling student, or the child whom just wants to have fun! All course activities apply to specific New York State Learning Standards in order to strengthen a variety of specific skill sets. These include Language Arts Standards 1 and 4, which improve their ability to listen for understanding and communicate orally; Social Studies Standard 5, which enhances children's ability to interact positively with others; Arts Standard 1, which expands their understanding of art and music; and Physical Education Standard 1, which hones children's fine motor and manipulative skills. Movin’ and Groovin’ Reading I is a great way to increase your child's love for learning and provide them with the necessary tools to grow academically and personally!

This exciting, engaging and educational program is designed for children who have completed Movin’ and Groovin’ Reading I and want to continue building a strong foundation for their future success!

Movin’ and Groovin’ Math I: Shapes and Ladders, Clowning Around, Food Fun, Shape Twister and Macarena Math are just a few activities your child will have fun participating in while increasing their knowledge of numbers, patterns, shapes and counting. This fun, engaging and educational program is designed for children of all abilities, ages 4 through 6! Course activities are based on the Kindergarten Curriculum and apply to specific New York State Learning Standards in order to strengthen a variety of specific skill sets. These include Math Standards 1 and 3, which build their counting skills and their recognition of numbers and patterns; Social Studies Standard 5, which enhances children’s ability to interact positively with others; Language Arts Standards 1 and 4, which improve their ability to listen for understanding and communicate verbally; Arts Standard 1, which expands their understanding of art and music; and Physical Education Standard 1, which hones children's fine motor and manipulative skills. Movin’ and Groovin’ Math I is a great way to increase your child's love for learning and provide them with the necessary tools to grow academically and personally!
Movin’ and Groovin’ Math II: Alligator Addition, Rabbit Hop, Ring Toss, and Skittles Sort are just a few of the exciting activities your child will have fun participating in while continuing to increase their knowledge of numbers, counting, addition, patterns and sorting. This exciting, engaging and educational program is designed for children who have completed Movin’ and Groovin’ Math I and want to continue building a strong foundation for their future success!
Movin’ and Groovin’ Kids Night Out!: Everybody Shout Hello, Cool Bear Hunt, Freeze Dance, and Party Time are just a few of the exciting, engaging and educational songs your child will be Movin’ and Groovin’ to at our party while your out enjoying yourself! During this two hour party, children will be actively engaged in music and movement activities which are in compliance with the New York State Learning Standards, so children will be learning while having fun! Activities are age appropriate for children 3 to 7 and will help increase cooperation skills, listening skills, Math skills and respect for others! Children will also have an opportunity to explore their creative side as they make their own personal instrument. Each session will be a different craft. So sign up for one or sign up for all! Space is limited so hurry or you'll miss out on this great opportunity to enjoy two hours to yourself or with someone special, while your child enjoys their own night out!
